Updating Your Will

Updating your Will for Lifetime Clients

  • Write your amendments directly onto the copy Wills that we sent you for your records.
  • If adding new people, we require full names and relationships, eg ‘John Howard Smith, brother.’ If changing or adding an Executor or Trustee, we require the same, plus their address.
  • Sign each page of the copy Wills.
  • Include a photocopy of one form of ID for each of you, eg driving licence or passport.
  • Send the amended copy Wills and ID to Legal Dept, WSL Ltd, 154 High Street, Brentford, TW8 8JA
  • Upon receipt we will update your Wills and send new Wills to you for signing and witnessing.

Updating your Will for Non-Lifetime Clients

  • The charge for updating a single Will is £135, and two ‘mirror’ Wills is £180, including VAT.
  • Write your amendments clearly onto photocopies of your Wills. Do not mark your original Wills in any way, as this will invalidate them.
  • If adding new people, we require full names and relationships, eg ‘John Howard Smith, brother.’ If changing or adding an Executor or Trustee, we require the same, plus their address.
  • Sign each page of the photocopied Wills.
  • Include a photocopy of one form of ID for each of you, eg driving licence or passport.
  • Send the photocopied Wills, ID and cheque made out to WSL Ltd to Legal Dept, WSL Ltd, 154 High Street, Brentford, TW8 8JA
  • Upon receipt we will update your Wills and send new Wills to you for signing and witnessing.

Of course, you may decide that it would be beneficial for you to become Lifetime Clients. There are three different types of Lifetime Service package available, as follows:

Essential Lifetime Service (Storage and updates) 
Storage of your Wills and any other paper documents (eg house deeds, policy documents, certificates etc), plus unlimited free updates of your Wills during your lifetimes, including all associated legal advice.

Classic Lifetime Service (Storage, updates and Executor assistance)
Storage and updates as above, plus free assistance for your Executors, enabling them to put your Wills through probate so that they do not have to turn to a solicitor. WSL will also be available to assist in up to two further estates requiring probate per Lifetime Member, where the deceased is an immediate family member and a valid Will is in place.

Premier Lifetime Service (Storage, updates and Estate administration) 
Storage, updates and assistance for your Executors, however if your Executors feel unable to manage, we will fully administer your estate and obtain the Grant of Probate, at the guaranteed fee of no more than 1% of the value of your estate.

For each of these services, we would write to your Executors to inform them that they have been appointed as an Executor by you, where your Wills are being stored, the procedure for releasing your Wills when required, and providing them with detailed information regarding their duties.
